We reveale one of the last secrets of the \u201cZeppelin grandstand\u201d:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

In the last decades there have been repeatedly false informations and incorrect assumptions about the planned figurine in the \u201cGolden Hall\u201d (Arno Breker was never intended as an artist here).
\n<\/span>So; we make our contribution to bring light into this fog.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the \u201cGolden Hall\u201d of the central tract of the \u201cZeppelin Field Grandstand\u201d it was planned until the \u201cReichsparteitag 1939\u201d to erect four golden gilded (bronze) sculptures by artist Kurt Schmid-Ehmen.

\nIn a cross-fade, we show the niche front of the \u201cGolden Hall\u201d (as of July 2017) with the planned figures (height and width, shape of the base). <\/span>The black and white image source with this information comes from 1936.
\n<\/span>
\n<\/span>In addition to the figures, the erection of \u201c(fire)\u201d shells was planned. <\/span>Open flames are probably can be excluded because of the soot development in the hall. <\/span>Possibly. <\/span>the shells were only optical ornamentation \u2013 without any lighting function.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"Zeppelintrib\u00fcneHere comes a <\/span><\/span>panorama view with the four gilded bronze sculptures.
\n<\/span>In the first picture (at the top), the outline of the planned figures can be seen. <\/span>On the basis of the individual body holdings, we believe that we can assign the correct gold figure (from left to right):<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

1. The \u201ctorch bearer\u201d: \u201cVictory\u201d (Sieg)
\n<\/span>2. The \u201csword-bearer\u201d: \u201cFight\u201d (Kampf)
\n<\/span>3. The \u201ctwig\u201d: the former name \u201cHonor\u201d (Ehrung)
\n<\/span>4. The \u201cSpeertr\u00e4gerin\u201d: \u201cFaith\u201d (Glaube)<\/span><\/p>\n

The figures \u201cfaith\u201d and \u201chonor\u201d were cast (in a reduced scale?) In bronze. <\/span>The two males existed only as plaster models \u2013 according to our current knowledge. <\/span>In the \u201cGreat German Art Exhibitions\u201d in Munich, all four figures were shown \u2013 either as bronze or as a bronze dummy (gypsum model with paint). <\/span>Such cases should also have existed.<\/span><\/p>\n

\nAnother panorama view with the enlarged figures (about 2.9 m height).
\n<\/span>We have a photograph showing that Kurt Schmid-Ehmen shows \u201ctribute\u201d (the second-hand artist) in modeling the figure. <\/span>Starting from a fictitious body size of the artist of 1.7 m, we arrive at this figure to a size of about 2.9 m.
\n<\/span>It can not therefore be ruled out that the figures in the \u201cGolden Hall\u201d would have gotten this size. <\/span>Our basic data base dates from 1936. The figures were planned for September 1939. <\/span>It would have been the first time if nothing would had changed in the original plans. <\/span>Ultimately, everything was turned out bigger. <\/span>We do not want to underline this possibility. <\/span>The space in the spaceships would have been enough.<\/span>
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

\n<\/span>We have not invented anything here. <\/span>All dimensions and heights are based on drawings and floor plans from the magazine of 1936.
\n<\/span>The figures (from right to left): \u201cFaith\u201d, \u201cHonor\u201d, \u201cFight\u201d and \u201cVictory\u201d.
\n<\/span>We show the four figure bases white-transparent, because we currently have no information on the planned place of the stone \u2013 whether it is polished or natural.<\/span><\/p>\n

Our size-information concerning the \u201cGolden Hall\u201d:<\/strong>
\n<\/span>Length: 36.38 m, width: 9.19 m, max. <\/span>Ceiling height (mosaic): approx. 8.46 m, max. <\/span>Height of the stone walls (up to the light strip): approx. 7.38 m.
\n<\/span>On this basis: height of the candlesticks: approx. 2.0 m, height of the figure base, 1.34 m, height of the figures: approx. 2.17 m (they were described several times in the literature as \u201cbigger than man size\u201d).<\/span><\/p>\n

Open questions:<\/strong>
